Happy Feet Two Arrives on DVD today!

The girls were really excited at the opportunity to watch Happy Feet Two. Miss Eight had seen the original film and, while Little One hadn’t, she thought the cover of the dvd looked “cute” so she wanted to see it as well!

I couldn’t believe how many stars were involved in this movie! Some of the actors involved in this movie include Elijah Woods, Robin Williams (who is a favourite of mine), Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Hank Azaria, Sofía Vergara and P!nk!

The opening dance scene in the movie is adorable and incredibly upbeat! I loved it because it included a montage of songs from my youth (such as “Rhythm Nation”) and a fun dance number! Miss Eight, who takes dance lessons, was making up her own moves to the music. Throughout the movie, the music was a real high point – I’m a huge P!nk fan so I found the music (especially “Bridge of Light”) fabulous and the accompanying scenes compelling and often really cute!

In the movie, Mumble and Gloria now have a son named Erik. Mumble feels like there is a problem, though, because Erik is afraid to dance! Faced by the pressure to dance, Erik runs away and ends up meeting The Mighty Sven (who wears probably the best sweater I’ve ever seen!) who is a penguin that can fly! Mumble feels that he can’t compete with Sven but Erik learns, as his father battles against larger forces, how amazing his dad truly is!

Personally, I loved the subplot about Will the Krill and Bill the Krill. I thought that the inclusion of this storyline (which included amazing graphics and seeing the world through the eyes of something so small) was really cool! I think the scene with Bill the Krill and the chainsaw was hilarious!

Overall, we all thought this movie was really fun for a variety of reasons. The animation and 3D effects are absolutely brilliant, the musical scenes are funny and the positive values shared through this storyline makes this movie a great one for the whole family!

And, if that wasn’t cool enough, there is a free “Happy Feet Two” Movie App for IOS 4.2 or higher compatible devices, including iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The App synchs with your “Happy Feet Two” Blu-ray disc for a cool Second Screen experience to sing, dance, and play along with your favorite movie characters on-screen. Now you can enjoy more fun and games with your favorite Happy Feet Two movie characters! Visit the Apple iTunes store to learn more! I can’t wait to add this app to my iPod Touch for the girls and I to have more Happy Feet fun!

I still haven’t seen this one. I really liked the first Happy Feet movie but with the nice summer weather we don’t find ourselves indoors much catching up on movies. I look forward to seeing those cute penguins in Happy Feet 2!!

March 11–Alas! I have not seen this DVD yet. I love your review. It makes you want to run, not walk, out to buy it for your grandkids, in my case. I love to see the little ones dance to music that sets their bodys in motion. Thanks for the great reviewl-el03ro
