If you didn’t know how much I love tv, then I’m not sure what blog you’ve been reading!
This time of year is a busy one, but I also get excited because it means the return of my favourite shows and the launching of some new ones!
I’ll be talking more on this topic as the time draws closer, but here are a few shows that already have me excited!
Next Iron Chef Season 5. I’m pretty excited because the contestants include some Food TV personalities I enjoy – Amanda Freitag and Alex Guarnaschelli (both of whom I enjoy on Chopped) and Spike Mendelsohn (from Top Chef – that guy cracks me up!). AND tenth slot will go to the winner of a Web-exclusive competition taking place on FoodNetwork.com and I know who I’m rooting for! Madison Cowan is absolutely brilliant (I first saw him on Chopped and now watch him on BBC’s series, No Kitchen Required). Go Madison! The series premieres on November 4th – I’ve already marked my calendar so I don’t forget!
666 Park Avenue – It is being described by TV Guide as “Lost meets Desperate Housewives” – CHA-CHING! If that wasn’t exciting enough….one of the stars is Terry O’Quinn (aka John Locke from Lost – insert a squeal here!). It premieres on September 30th on ABC.
Elementary I’ve been excited about this show since I started seeing advertisements for it. A modern-day Sherlock Holmes (who happens to be really cute!). Bring it on! It begins airing on September 25th on ABC.
That’s just a taste of what is coming. As the time draws closer, I’ll be sure to share what I’m looking forward to scheduling on my PVR!

August 8-I’m really looking forward to the new Fall Season as well. I love the Olympics but that is only on for two weeks. I am looking forward to the new ‘Elementary ‘ as well. I really like any shows featuring Sherlock Holmes and Watson. There was a really good series on about two or three years ago but set in the past. I am looking forward to the more modern version.-el03ro
Hopefully it is good!
I miss watching TV ‘s new shows. We have Netflix here as cable is very basic in the country lol
I’ve heard Netflix is great – I think it is a really good option to cable tv (I’m just not quite ready to switch yet).
I can’t wait for fall shows too! I felt so lost without them the last few months
lol My husband and I like The Walking Dead…never thought I’d actually like a zombie based show…but it’s sooo good!
Oooo…I haven’t seen that! Another show to add to my list!
I haven’t watched any of those, I must really be missing out.
It probably just means that you aren’t a tv addict like I am!*lol*
I’m so excited for Next Iron Chef too! I loved last season so I can’t wait to see what they bring us this time!
I’m so excited about it! Have you ever watched Come Dine with Me? It is on the W Network and I would bet that you would love it!
If you’re into Sherlock Holmes, the BBC has an amazing modern series called Sherlock, that is really worth a watch. I can’t get enough of it!
I’ve heard about that show! I love BBC Canada (I’m a bit obsessed with it!). I love Torchwood (the Doctor Who spinoff series), Cowboy Builders (reality tv at its finest!) and No Kitchen Required that I mentioned in my post. I could go on and on for days…sometime I’ll write about the “Best of British” programs that I watch!
I’m really interested in watching Elementary! I love Lucy Lui and Johnny Lee Miller I enjoy too. He used to be married to my all time favourite Angelina Jolie! I’ll be watching for sure!
Seriously? I’m starting to wonder if everyone has been married to Angelina Jolie (I still remember her and Billy Bob Thorton and their necklaces that contained each other’s blood)…
lol
I’ve watched hardly any tv for several months. I have no idea about any of these shows, so thanks for a little heads up and info.
I haven’t heard of any of those shows….but there are a few new ones I am looking forward to
I haven’t heard of those shows except for the Next Iron Chef. I haven’t been watching much TV lately, except my guilty pleasure…True Blood (and sometimes Game of Thrones). I am addicted to Food Network, but Hubby actually discontinued it because he thought I needed a Food Network intervention! LOL! Booooo!
The running joke here is that my love of The Food Network is called “Food Porn” – as in, “Oh…so you’re watching food porn again?” (I was going to make that the title of a post once but I was terrified of the search engine traffic it might get!)
We also are looking forward to Iron Chef, FD loves that show! I’m also looking forward to Chicago Fire new drama and some shows I hope that come back : Once Upon a Time and Touch.
Once Upon a Time and Touch are two of my favourite shows on right now!!! I’ll have to check out Chicago Fire – the synopsis didn’t appeal to me but I’ve learned to sometimes give shows a chance (as I’m always complaining that networks don’t do that!).
I was just reviewing some of the new shows myself…
