Schleich Review

Schleich is a cornerstone company in the toy-making industry. Now marking their 75th anniversary, according to their website, the company was founded in 1935 and the figurine collections were founded in the 1950s. I believe part of Schleich’s long-standing success is their philosophy regarding the development of their products: “As a manufacturer of toys we carry a special responsibility towards parents and children. It is our aim to constantly live up to the image of a developer and supplier of top quality products with an educational aspect.”

From Farm Life and Prehistoric Animals to The World of Knights and even the Smurfs, there are a tremendous range of products available from Schleich!

We received a Wildlife Airplane as well as an Indian elephant and an elephant calf to review. When I first opened the box, I was concerned because I realized that you had to assemble the plane. When it comes to assembling products, I tend to be all thumbs. I was pleased to learn, however, that the assembly of the plane was incredibly easy!

The quality of the airplane and the elephants was apparent. Because of their solid construction, they could be played with extensively and even roughly and would still remain in excellent condition. With a small child who isn’t the most gentle, this was an excellent quality for these toys to have!

My littlest gal really enjoyed both the plane and the animals! She liked that there was a little pilot for the plane and that she could fly the plane around and even land on the elephants if she wanted to (I told you she isn’t the most gentle child!). She’s been playing with them regularly and she seems to really enjoy them – she’s even been known to carry around an elephant in her pocket!

I’d recommend Schleich’s toys for kids of all ages!

My daughters would love the laying lioness and the playing lion cub….they love to play Lion King all the time and we only have a ‘boy’ lion.
