I am really blessed that noone in my family suffers from a nut allergy. In this day and age, however, I always find it better to err on the side of caution (as you never know when you will be in contact with someone who has a nut allergy) so I try to incorporate nut-free products into our daily lives whenever I can.
For that reason, I was interested in trying out some of the Easter chocolate products that were available at Vermont Nut Free Chocolates. According to the company, “Vermont Nut Free Chocolates is a gourmet chocolate company whose entire selection is completely safe for those with any tree nut or peanut allergy but can also be enjoyed by anyone who loves fine chocolates. The company was established in 1998 by Gail Elvidge, the mother of a child with a potentially life-threatening peanut allergy. Finding it difficult to locate food items for her son that were safe, including chocolate, she decided to make her own, thus Vermont Nut Free Chocolates was born. All Vermont Nut Free Chocolates’ products are safe from cross-contamination concerns that often arise with similar, mass-produced products, parents of children with nut allergies can feel comforted by the nut-free guarantee on these products.”
I must admit that I devoured that Crispy Chick – I have a fondness for this type of chocolate (I like the crispiness that you get in every bite!) and it exceeded my expectations! The chocolate the sweet and smooth – the quality of the chocolate was obvious and, despite the fact that I kept putting it away, I couldn’t help but pull out this chocolate again and again until I was done! The Easter Miniatures also didn’t last long – once the first piece was unwrapped and people realized how great this chocolate tasted, it disappeared within minutes! I decided to take the Dark Chocolate Easter Pop to a friend at work to get her impressions – she loved the taste and said it was flavourful and didn’t have the bitterness you sometimes find with dark chocolate. She was amazed when I told her this chocolate was specifically made in a nut-free facility and quickly asked me to email her their website address as she wanted to order some for herself!
Vermont Nut Free Chocolate products can be found at select retailers and are available on the company website and can be shipped anywhere in the world.
