Kill Alex Cross – Patterson doesn’t disappoint!

I’ve been an Alex Cross fan almost since the inception of this character by James Patterson. I feel like I’ve been traveling with Alex through his life and I’ve been fascinated by the twists and turns that his life has taken.

Despite a huge pile of books to read, when I was at Shopper’s Drug Mart last week I noticed a copy of Patterson’s latest book, Kill Alex Cross, and I couldn’t resist buying it (I probably could have walked by, but it was 25% off too – darn you sale price!).

I dove in and finished the book in record time! In Kill Alex Cross, you get a continuation of the lives of various characters including Alex, his girlfriend and his family (his Nana is one of my favourite characters!).

Their lives are woven into an action-packed storyline! The President’s son and daughter are abducted, and Detective Alex Cross is one of the first on the scene. But someone very high-up is using the FBI, Secret Service, and CIA to keep him off the case and in the dark.

A deadly contagion in the water supply cripples half of the capital, and Alex discovers that someone may be about to unleash the most devastating attack the United States has ever experienced.

As his window for solving both crimes narrows, Alex makes a desperate decision that goes against everything he believes–one that may alter the fate of the entire country. KILL ALEX CROSS is faster, more exciting, and more tightly wound than any Alex Cross thriller James Patterson has ever written!

To put it bluntly, I loved the book! Patterson never disappoints – the storyline is interesting, the chapters are short with little cliffhangers (that make you want to keep on reading) and the conclusion of the story brings everything right with the world once more.

I find it amazing that, after all these years and all of the Alex Cross books that I’ve read, they still stand as one of my favourite series to read when I want to relax and unwind! I can’t wait to see what is next for Alex Cross!

July 20-I know just how you feel about James Patterson -or at least I think I do.–I feel that way about Harlan Cohan and his books. He has decided to write for the teenagers! I will have to try another author and James Patterson may well be it. You have recommended him highly and I must see if I feel the same!–el03ro
