Tonight’s the Night — Great TV Premieres!

This week has made my tv-loving self really happy — summer programming was okay but there was a definite gap in September when very few and returning programs arrived until this week (I was excited to see Grimm start early but now I’m trying to figure out when it will return!).

While I have checked out some new shows (including Elementary, Ben and Kate and Partners) and some of my favourite returning shows (I’ve got Castle and Person of Interest PVR’ed and ready to go and I was laughing hysterically at How I Met Your Mother and 2 Broke Girls to name just a few!), tonight is the pinnacle of fall tv premieres — I’m really excited!

If you are wondering why I’m excited, here’s why!

1. An intriguing new show — 666 Park Avenue begins tonight and I can’t wait to see what it is about! I know the reviews have been mixed, and the show looks creepy, but I want to have a look (and it stars Terry O’Quinn, who I become slightly obsessed with while watching Lost this spring!).

2. A new series of THE BEST reality tv program – I want to yell it from the rooftops — The Amazing Race is back! It is, hands down, my favourite program as I love watching the trips around the world (and Phil is really cute!).

3. The return of some of my absolute favourites (though I don’t know which one to watch tonight!) — Sunday nights have always been a challenge as last season there were a lot of programs I enjoyed. This season, it seems like all of the networks have thrown even more into the mix! Tonight marks the return of Once Upon a Time, The Good Wife AND The Mentalist! Also, if you want a good laugh, tonight marks the return of the The Simpsons too!

Decisions, decisions! While it is going to be challenging to make sure I get all of my Sunday nights shows PVR’ed (and watched!), it is great to see the return of so many programs I adore!

(PS – If, like me, you are waiting for the return of Touch — which, to me, was THE best Spring 2012 show — hang in there! It returns on Friday, October 26 and I, for one, can’t wait!).

I have some Dudely shows that I can’t wait for and they include The League, Impractical Jokers (maybe the funniest show I’ve ever seen) and Sherlock (a BBC show). I love TV so much, it’s borderline creepy šŸ˜€

October 1- I, too, have been looking forward to the return of Fall programing. My Husband and I have been watching reruns of Storage Wars all summer. I think it was the only show worth watching. However, last night, we had ‘The Midwife’ and ‘Upstairs,, Downstairs’ on PVS. Thank heavens for the fall and new programming!–el03ro
