Taking the Long Path – Starting Strong Monday

There are many days where I get frustrated — like many people, I would love to see weight loss results overnight. What I’ve realized, however, is that taking it slow is the best way.

Now that I’ve found a path to wellness that is working for me, I’ve realized that the story of the tortoise and the hare is really true. Slow and steady will win the race. Though I’d like a total change right now, losing weight consistently through lifestyle changes will help me to keep the weight off in the long run.

So, I’m relishing the losses — this week I lost another 1.4 pounds — no matter how big or small. Each pound takes me closer to my final goal.

And, in case you are interested, I ran across this article this week. It reinforces some things that I’ve thought for a long time surrounding the truth about diet, exercise and weight loss. It may surprise you!

October 30-I think your post of Yesterday was right on the mark. It is a long path. I can attest to that. I am more disciplined when it comes to exercise than to what I eat. I am working on the latter and it is a struggle. Thank you for sharing with us and thus encouraging us when you remind us that we are not alone in this journey to health. el03ro

Congratulations, and keep up the good work!
I read the article. I think it depends on the person. It’s not a one size fits all. I know exercise helps me personally. That said. I lost the most weight naturally after I had a baby.

Excellent article! I too wish I could go to bed and wake up a brand new person, but have learned that being consistent and slow is the way to go! Keep it up!
