Epic is — well — EPIC!

My favourite type of movie is the kind that all of the girls enjoy — while there are times when I can sit and watch a movie just with Little One or Miss Nine, having something we can all watch and enjoy is a bonus (only to be even better when Grownup Girl wants to watch it too!). For us, the big winner is often animated films because I’m a big kid at heart (as is Grownup Girl, though don’t tell her I said that!) and both Little One and Miss Nine will watch as well. Because we hadn’t seen Epic in theatres, we were all keen to settle in and see what this Epic movie had to offer!

Last weekend included a designated movie night so all got pj’ed up, I put together some snacks and we settled in to watch the movie. I really had no idea what Epic was about, so I wanted to see what the film was all about.

Beyonce, Steven Tyler, Colin Farrell, amanda seyfried

Transported to a magical world, a teenager (Amanda Seyfried) is recruited by a nature spirit, Queen Tara (Beyoncé Knowles), to help the “Leafmen” save their existence – and ours – from evil warriors. The whole family will love this fast-paced thrill-ride, with its astonishing animation and an all-star voice cast that includes Colin Farrell…and Steven Tyler!

The animation is this film is, quite simply, brilliant! I loved the story line because it had enough little jokes to keep me entertained while Little One was fascinated by all of the details and colours as well as the characters. I also thought the unique combination of actors in this film was really cool — I mean, Beyoncé, Colin Farrell and Steven Tyler? EPIC!

I asked the girls when the movie was over if they’d recommend the film and the “YES” was unanimous. With its ability to provide enjoyment to all ages, Epic truly lives up to its name!

Looks like a stunning movie! I can’t wait to see it (I’m giving it to my grandkids for Christmas)

November 18-I really like these animated films as well. I watched ‘Tangled’ at least four or five times with my greatgrandson and loved every minute of it. Directors could take note of the fact that films with very little violence and no gutter language are still hugely popular with children and their parents and so on.-el03ro
