One of my best friends is absolutely addicted to playing games! Since we were kids I’ve battled against her at things like Trivial Pursuit when we were younger and online games via Facebook more often than not these days! That being said, nothing beats a fun evening playing board games so an adults-only game night was in order!
What a great idea it was because it is so challenging to find time to spend together. Between work, family and all kinds of other commitments, we spend a lot of time saying, “We’ll get together soon” but soon never seems to come!
Mattel has introduced a truly original and fun idea with the question, “What’s your game sign?”
What is a “game sign” you ask? Mattel recently launched the Gameology Facebook App. This app determines your game sign, which tells you what type of player you are and which games fit you best. Are you an Activius with great physical prowess and a preference for games that require your hands? Or are you a patient Strategicorn who believes in waiting for the right moment in the game to strike? You can find out your game sign and what types of games are best for you!
So I decided to take the quiz and find out what I am — and I discovered that I’m a Strategicorn!
It was so much fun, in fact, that I decided that now was the time for the “together soon” and invited my friends over to play!
We had a real hoot (yes, I do talk like this — I keep thinking I sound more and more like my grandmother every day!) because there were tonnes of laughs throughout the night! My favourite game – which was new to me – was MadDab! Uno brought out the uber-competitive nature of many people who were there while the Pictionary Dice game just made us all laugh! I have to admit that I kept a couple of games for later — Apples to Apples is going to rock the girls’ world because I think they’ll have a great time playing it with Grandma and Angry Birds Knock On Wood Game (which is THE cutest games, hands down!) is going to be shared with a close friend who lives with 3 Angry Bird fanatics — believe me, if you went to their house and saw the stuffed Angry Birds and the Angry Bird calendar you’d see what I mean — because I think the best part of games is the ability to make a lot of people happy!
(And, I have to apologize because my camera decided to play up that night and I’ve got no photos to share – Boo! Hiss!)
