With Earth Day coming up on Friday, I thought it was a great time to highlight a cool Canadian site that I recently found! Based in Ottawa, Ontario, Eko Bear caught my eye because of the great variety of toys that all come from environmentally-conscious choices. As Linda Peter’s, the company’s owner, says on her “About Us” page, “every product [sold at Eko Bear] is eco-friendly. From biodegradable toys, toys made from recycled materials, toys made with sustainability in mind and just as importantly made with colours that are safe for our little ones as well as our planet.” I also thought it was pretty cool that if I wanted to find out exactly how each brand of toys is manufactured and what types of materials are used in these toys, I simply have to click on the Brands button on the top of the Ekobear website and I can learn about each of the brands being sold on the site.
We received a Green Toy’s Pizza Parlour set to try out. I like the fact that this product (and all Green Toy’s products) are made primarily from recycled milk containers and have contain no BPA, PVC, phthalates, or external coatings. Not only that, but even the packaging is made from recycled and recyclable materials and produced with soy inks. I feel good knowing that this is a great environmental choice as well as being a fun toy for the girls!
The Pizza Parlour itself was really impressive! The pieces are incredibly cute and the colours are really vivid! I know that the girls are going to have hours of fun with it because they love playing with play food sets and the Pizza Parlour is a wonderful addition to their collection! It’s really nice to see the Pizza Parlour bring them together and enjoy having fun!
